LOCK STOCK

What does the film 'Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels' (Ritchie, 1998) tell us about male identity in Britain, in the 1990s?

After watching the 1998 film ‘Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels’ I immediately was given an impression of how the male identity was portrayed in the 1990s.

Violence is one of the main themes shown in the film, although we don’t see it happening. The males in the film play a big part in the violence, it is seen to be almost ‘fun’ in their lives, along with the amount of money they can get to show power. Whether it is seriously hurting someone to get it or smuggling drugs.
